Join the University of Memphis Opera for Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's masterpiece The Marriage of Figaro!
Mozart’s beloved comic opera takes place over just one day, but that day is filled with twists, turns, revelations, comic sparkle and deep pathos. Written just before the French Revolution, The Marriage of Figaro explores class, power dynamics, the battle of the sexes—and the miracle of forgiveness.
"The bumpy road to Figaro and Susanna’s wedding shines with wit, humanity and astounding, glorious music."
- The Guardian
Don't worry, the singing will be in glorious Italian with English supertitles. This production will replace the recitative with English narration.
